West Australian Alternative Energy (WAAE) is a vertically integrated renewable energy company based in Western Australia, with over 18 years of experience in the industry.
We specialize in the design, construction, and maintenance of commercial and industrial renewable energy power systems. Our expertise encompasses the management of technical, regulatory, and government funding requirements, allowing us to deliver high-quality solutions tailored to regional and remote sites and communities.
WAAE has garnered recognition for significant projects, including the Kalumburu hybrid solar project, which has greatly advanced renewable energy adoption in the Kimberley region. In April 2023, WAAE entered into a strategic joint venture with Horizon Power, a state-owned utility, whereby Horizon acquired a 50% stake in the company. This partnership aims to enhance renewable energy solutions throughout Western Australia, supporting the state government’s commitment to achieving an 80% reduction in emissions by 2030.
The collaboration is expected to facilitate the deployment of solar and low-emission projects across 34 microgrids and 117 remote communities, further assisting Horizon Power in meeting its carbon reduction targets while addressing supply chain and workforce challenges in the sector.
