Warmun Community (also known as Turkey Creek) is a township and locality in the remote Kimberley region of Western Australia, located on the Great Northern Highway, 3,000 kilometres northeast of Perth. The closest populated town is Halls Creek.
West Australian Alternative Energy was engaged to design and install rooftop solar systems for six buildings in the community including the general store, childcare centre, community hall and administration building.
A highly skilled team from WAAE travelled to Warmun for three weeks to complete the project. This involved co-ordinating the transport of all materials and equipment from Perth to the remote Kimberley region.
A total of 150kw was installed at the community across 6 sites, assisting the community to reduce their electricity bills.
