Horizon Power is a State Government owned vertically integrated utility responsible for the generation, distribution and retailing of electricity in regional Western Australia.

Horizon Power are responsible for delivering electricity to 47,000 connections, supplying more than 100,000 residents and more than 10,000 businesses in regional towns and remote communities.

Based on the HP01815 Kalamburu – Remote Communities Centralised Solar Project, West Australian Alternative energy was engaged to create a Solar Farm in Kalamburu to significantly decrease diesel consumption for the operation and generation of their power plant. The installation has decreased diesel consumption at the plant by a minimum of 60% every 365 days. The project objectives included: to reduce high variable generation costs, create employment opportunities for the community and to reduce carbon emissions.
