Ardyaloon Community
75 KW One Arm Point, WA
Ardyaloon (also known as One Arm Point) is a remote Indigenous community on the Dampier Peninsular with a population of approximately 400 people. According to the local Bardi people the name ‘One Arm Point’ originated from the story of an unfortunate Pearler who had an accident whilst using explosives to catch fish in the bay.
Ardyaloon is surrounded by vast mangrove and coastal systems, making it a unique place to experience the massive tidal flows of the King Sound. The region is also home to the Bardi Ardyaloon hatchery which has successfully produced Trochus shell at One Arm Point for a number of years.
