Shire of Augusta Margaret River
24KW Margaret Rvier, WA
Roof Mount, Grid Connect, Remotely Monitored
The Margaret River Library is a well-appointed local library which houses a vast range of services available to the local community to entertain, educate, connect and inform.
The Augusta Recreation centre is a facility provided by the Augusta Margaret River Shire that includes a hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium and multipurpose court.
Project Details
The Augusta Margaret River Shire, engaged WA Alternative Energy to compile a detailed, site specific Viability Report to determine how they could reduce the energy consumption costs for the Margaret River library and Augusta Recreation Centre. The Shire wanted to reduce the electricity consumption from the grid and try to reduce the increasing costs from their retailer. It was determined a 10 kW solar energy system was the best fit for the library site and a 14 kW system for the recreation centre.
Solution
The 10kW solar energy system was built on the library building. This building is in a built up area surrounded by trees so we used the dual input of the inverter reduce the impact of the system production. The system will reduce the electricity consumption from the grid by 21% and reduce their electricity costs by 21%.
Simon and the team from West Australian Alternative Energy were very easy to deal with throughout the project from quote stage to final installation. The work was carried out in a timely, professional manner and staff were briefed on how to operate the system should they need to. I would recommend the company to others.
